Warning: picture overload below... We went to Pittsburgh last weekend to visit Michael's family (most of them had not yet met Katelyn) and it was a blast; lots of laughs and good memories! This also marked Katelyn's first airplane flight, first night in a hotel, and it brought the official number of states she's visited up to four in just six months (that includes our own MN). She's quite the happy traveler and we're grateful for that! Her easygoing disposition is especially advantageous when dealing with a 3-hour flight delay and a time zone change.
We could hardly believe it ourselves, but we ended up not even having to check a bag for this trip. We had two smaller suitcases, a diaper bag, a backpack, car seat, and car seat base (the last two items are checked at the gate).
After checking out all the fellow passengers and flashing tons of smiles, Katelyn slept for most of the flight on the way there. Little angel :)
Michael's Aunt Marlene let us know beforehand just how excited his cousin Marissa was to see and play with Katelyn. Marissa loved holding Katelyn and touching her hands, feet, and hair. She could be heard saying, "Her ___ is soooo interesting!" countless times throughout the weekend (in reference to Katelyn's hair, eye, nose, foot, hand, and ear :) Here are a few photos of this dynamic duo!
Marissa even put up with a little hair tugging if it meant getting to sit by Katelyn!
Katelyn got to meet all kinds of important family members and had fun seeing new faces. Here she is checking out the patriarch of the Mlakar family: her Great Grandpap Howard!
Katelyn also got to meet Grandpa Gary and be a part of the 4 generations photo:
(Apparently Katelyn didn't get the joke!)
As always, Aunt Marlene and Uncle Dan were so incredibly gracious hosting everyone at their home. Thanks, Millirons!! Here are some photos of Katelyn meeting these VIPs :)
Here are some more photos of fun from the weekend. Enjoy!
Katelyn loved getting to see Aunt Jen again!
She went on a swing for the first time and beamed with joy!
Grandpap Howie with all the grandchildren (except for Jason - we missed him and Cassie!)

Bottom: Genesis, Joshua, Josephine, Howard, Jennifer, and Marissa
Totally tuckered out from all the activity.
Cousin Joshua - our Godchild :)
This is Katelyn's reaction to seeing Michael. Melt my heart!
We took a trip up the "incline" to the top of a mountain to get a good view of downtown Pittsburgh. It was fun but very hot in the tram!
Neil, Uncle Howard, Josephine, Missy, Alan, Genesis, and Uncle Eddie
On the flight home. Katelyn was a great little passenger and loved watching everyone board the plane. What a great trip to Pittsburgh and so much fun catching up with family. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Katelyn, what a good little traveler you are, and to have been in four states already at only 6 months! Wow! I'm glad you got to meet all the Pittsburgh fam and play with some more cousins! See you in 6 days!!
Katelyn, it looks like you charmed all of your family in Pittsburgh!! Such cute pictures of you having fun with everyone! See you at another family gathering in Iowa in just one week. Campbell's been practicing her walking so she can show you what walking is all about!!
