Up in the mornin' and out to school, the teacher is teachin' the golden rule... Not just a little Chuck Berry jingle, we actually have some school news of our own coming out of the Mlakar household! Michael has started the distance MBA program at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. I am so proud of him for pursing his master's degree (while working full time). It will be a lot of work, but he's motivated and ready for the challenge. What's more is this has always been a personal goal of his that's now taking shape. Katelyn is proud too...
Michael has been in Bloomington, Indiana, since Saturday participating in the residency week on campus. He said it's been great getting to know other professionals working on group projects (which have included a few all-nighters to get the work done - the hallmark of college coursework!) Katelyn, Malone, and I dropped him off at the airport on our way to Iowa on Saturday morning and are anxiously looking forward to picking him up tomorrow night!
Over the weekend, we were in Ames and Des Moines for my cousin's wedding and we sure missed Michael! He would've had a ton of fun and it was Katelyn's first time as a wedding guest; and what a good one she was. (Stay tuned for the "wedding post" coming soon :) We've done pretty well holding down the fort at home despite braving a few tornado warnings and huge (aka: loud and scary) thunderstorms. It definitely makes me appreciate all Michael does day-to-day around the house and with the kids (yes, Malone is considered a child.) Here are more photos of Katelyn showing her support for Michael - I bet he didn't realize he had his own personal cheerleader :)
She loved playing with the paper. Apparently a piece of paper is WAY more fun than the stuffed turtle that plays 4 different songs I gave her as a distraction :)
Making our "house divided" even more confusing, Katelyn really won't know who to cheer for now: the Cyclones, Hawkeyes, or Hoosiers!
Way to go, Michael - you make us so proud!

Katelyn makes a cute little cheerleader! And congrats to Michael!
Katelyn, I can tell you want to get your hands on that paper, swing it around, and squeal, "Go Daddy!"
We're proud of you, Michael!
