We bid farewell to July and warmly welcomed August (no, seriously it was really warm out) over the weekend! Saturday morning we went to Farmers Market in downtown Minneapolis - something we've been wanting to do for months and finally found a good day to do it. The market is FULL of vendors selling everything from all-natural homemade soap to jewelry to any kind of pepper you would want. We got two huge bouquets of flowers for just $5 each and also bought the ingredients to make guacamole and pico de gallo. To quote Rachael Ray, "Yum-O!"
Here we are heading to the market. We decided to try the outward facing position on the Baby Bjorn and Katelyn loved it! So many things to see and people to smile at :)
Saturday night we got together with our friends, Matt and Shelly, for dinner and drinks. They're expecting their 3rd child in January, so they enjoyed brushing up on their baby-handling skills ;)
Matt and Katelyn (don't mind Katelyn in her pj's at 5 pm - upon arrival, we discovered a diaper blowout! Eeek!)
Katelyn enjoying time with Shelly
Can you tell he's a dad? She passed out in his arms in a matter of seconds!
On Sunday, we headed back downtown for the Twins vs. Mariners game. It was an afternoon game, so we were hoping it wouldn't a) rain or b) be super hot. Well, the rain held off but that means the humidity was in full effect. Despite the humidity and warm temps, we still had a great time! And the Twins earned a W too!
Katelyn speaking her mind about both the Mariners and the heat!
Our little baseball fan was too hot to stay in the Bjorn for long! She enjoyed plenty of people watching at the game. One of the beer vendors was stopped by our row and said, "Bud, Bud Light, Mic Golden, and baby formula!" Then he winked at Katelyn... I wonder how many times he's used that one??? :)
Whew! The summer weather and all the Joe Mauer watching made for one exhausted little girl :)
