When we lived in our town house, we didn't have guests over too often since we didn't have a lot of space (especially after we had Katelyn and our friends began having kiddos of their own). I always said if/when we moved into a more spacious place, we would make up for lost time with our friends. We certainly did that on Saturday. 7 adult visitors + 8 kid visitors = one busy day!
We started off the morning by reuniting with friends from our mom and baby group that I joined through the hospital shortly after Katelyn was born. (Originally, we had plans to meet at a park, but with cool temps and rain clouds, we decided to go for the back-up plan, which was our house.) The "babies" were all born within a month of each other and it was so fun to see how much they've all grown and changed since last year at this time! (Check out this post to see the change for yourself - in the mom and baby group picture, the entire front row was here for the visit on Saturday.)

Katelyn wasn't so sure about sharing all of her toys at first but was gracious in the end (all the kids wanted to push the same walker around, so that made for some teachable moments). She is also teething right now and about to cut another molar, so was a little irritable. She still had fun with her little friends as they explored together. The moms had fun catching up, sharing stories, and offering advice for various situations. We hope to get together again this summer!
Later that afternoon, our friends Terri and Andy along with their kiddos Owen and Navy, stopped by to check out the new digs. I wonder if Katelyn recognized Navy or Owen since they go to the same school? Here are the girls...
Giving hugs...
And Saturday night, Matt, Shelly, Dane, Erik, and Tripp came over for a little Mexican fiesta for dinner. The margs, Pacifico, and chips with guac and pico were a meal in their own right, but we didn't stop there with tacos on the menu! As usual, Katelyn and Erik had fun together - here's another hug (basically just tilting their heads toward each other to touch :)
We were all pretty tired on Saturday night after our day of visitors, but it was a lot of fun and it sure is nice to be have the space to accommodate adults and little ones alike!
Sunday was a beautiful day, so we spent time outside, going on a family walk to the park, and Michael mowed the lawn with the first mower we've ever owned (the first taste of home-ownership without an association responsible for the yard work. Michael said he enjoyed it... we'll see how long that lasts :)
And here's a look at our slobber monster - the teething resulted in lots of wet shirts this weekend (along with a low-grade fever and restlessness). Hope that big tooth pops through soon, so Katelyn can get some relief!
We closed out our weekend relaxing and enjoying the sunset on Sunday night. Even Malone took in the view...

The first of many gatherings with friends, I'm sure. It's SO nice that you have room now for visitors and even overnight guests now and then! See you soon!
What a fun filled weekend! Katelyn, I hope your toofer comes through quickly and painlessly!!
