Katelyn had her 4-month check-up on Monday and she tolerated it pretty well. She surprised me with tears in the beginning when she didn't recognize the nurse, but the doctor said that's not uncommon at this age, especially with breastfed babies. After that semi-rocky start, the rest of the appointment went pretty well - except for the shots which were greeted with a loud wail and real tears :( She checked out great by Dr. Tammy. Here are her stats:
~ Height: 24 3/4" (75th percentile)
~ Weight: 13 lbs. 11 oz. (50th percentile)
~ Head circumference: 16 1/2" (75th percentile)
Showing off her battle wounds. Just like after her 2-month appointment, showing her disgust with the shots.
Telling me about her doctor visit. "And then, they looked in my eyes with a flashlight!"
We enjoyed celebrating Michael on his first Father's Day on Sunday. How nice to have a day dedicated to dads and all that they do to make life sweet :) Seeing Michael as a daddy has been incredible and he is a great one, I might add! We enjoyed a great day together as a family and Katelyn gave Michael her first (of many, I'm sure) art projects from school. It's really special and includes her little footprint in pink paint and a photo of her.
Michael got a yummy fruit arrangement from his family for Father's Day (they know him so well :) Little monkey being just that on daddy's arm!

"My daddy cracks me up, ya'll!"
Katelyn's special art project - Michael loved it!
Sitting in her Bumbo chair.
A very common sight in our house along with the statement: "Uh-oh, need a burp cloth!" And classic Katelyn - spitting up but happy about it :)
Stay tuned to the blog for additional write-ups - I am a bit behind with updating some other fun things we've done recently including a vacation in Iowa with my immediate family, a BBQ get together with friends, as well as a "girls trip" to Ames (yes, meaning me and Katelyn... just the two of us... and yes, I was nervous about the drive. Will we do it again? You'll find out :). More to come!
