Hello there, my five blog readers :) I am so insanely behind on posts for you, it's almost comical. But I haven't given up! Here comes some 4th of July fun! Here's a recap with lots of pictures from our annual Ridunion which is also known as Lakation 2014, as we stayed at a bed and breakfast near Lake Panorama in Panora, Iowa. It's the same place we stayed last year - we enjoyed it so much!
Not surprisingly, we spent a lot of time in the pool. Hellooooo, summer!!!
We also got to visit Aunt Cindy and Uncle RJ at their lovely lake house and see more family members. Katelyn and Campbell didn't miss a beat!
Gigi came in from Perry, what a joy to see her. And how about this duo? Just love these girls!
This is the best attempt at a four-generations picture. Someone was getting tired!
My cousin Pat and his wife Sarah came to Iowa from Denver and brought their sweet-as-pie pup, Jesse, along. Katelyn adored him! (And she also adored Uncle Ryan :)
We loved seeing Grandma and Grandpa Rehm, too. What a treat to all be together - we don't take these moments for granted!
Uncle Mitch and Kendall hung out by the lake. Little Kendie was not feeling so well - she had just started to come down with a cold.
More family fun with Aunt Mary and Uncle Rob who came all the way from Arkansas!
And yes, fishing and maxi dresses go hand-in-hand :)
We certainly didn't let the opportunity for boat rides to pass us by. Thanks, Jensens - we had a blast!
Captains Campbell and Katelyn!
And someone enjoyed her maiden voyage (even though it doesn't look that way :)...
Kendall's first time on a boat was a hit!
With a twinkle in his eye, Michael jumped at the chance to water ski. And for not having done it in years, he did awesome! Katelyn and Kendall kept waving and cheering him on from the boat. Special thanks to Pat for driving the boat and encouraging Michael to give skiing a whirl.
Katelyn, Sarah, and Jesse enjoyed each other's company and the generous sunshine at the front of the boat.
And these two chums loved the wind in their hair (and fur?) while taking in the lake life.
Since it was the 4th of July after all, we played with sparklers and shutter speeds on my Canon. Pretty rad!
It was a great Iowa getaway and we hope to do it again next year. Summertime fun with family is pretty much as good as it gets!
