He is Risen!

Happy Easter! Hope you all had a great weekend celebrating the risen Christ. Our Easter was all-in-all pretty traditional with a little dash of non-traditional for fun (Leann Chin chinese food for lunch :)

Here's a peek at our day:
1) Church on Sunday morning to celebrate the most monumental day in all of Christianity - can I get an Amen?!
2) Katelyn was clad in her new Easter dress from Gramma Debbie (this is the only picture we got of her all dressed up and she's not exactly in her happy place... and I'd like to point out the leg-warmers from Great Aunt Ronda - they're a totally acceptable addition to the traditional Easter dress here in Minnesota :)

3) Katelyn got an Easter basket with eggs (she called every egg a "ball") and her special friends Dane, Erik and Tripp brought her a bunny with Cheerio's inside. Perfect and thoughtful!
4) Valiant effort was put forth for a family picture, but it wasn't very pretty, folks (Katelyn was ready for a nap after church if you can't tell - oh, and she also cut a tooth yesterday which could also be credited for the tears)...

5) Precious time spent together as a family (and how glorious to enjoy the sunny day outside - quite appropriate for the day marking new life!)

Katelyn loved playing in the sand and grasping little fistfuls of the stuff!

The slide was a hit too - the smile gives that away...

And Katelyn is such a little climber, she enjoyed this cube-thing with various heights of steps. (She also tries to climb on top of all the boxes we have around the house right now!)

And the beloved swing got some attention too. She always says "weee"!

It was a wonderful day!

On Saturday, we had our work cut out for us on some minor (Michael made me correct this) major home improvement tasks for our renters who move in next week and also our new pastime: packing! Katelyn was so sweet and kept hugging Michael's back while he did some work under the sink:

She also kept us company while we packed up the linen closet...

After all our hard work on Saturday, we deemed it appropriate to have a steak dinner for two... at our breakfast bar (we sold our table and chairs on Craigslist)... on paper plates (real dishes are packed away)... with wine (haven't packed that up yet!!)... in a lowball glass (hey, at least it wasn't in a Dixie cup!) If the photo below doesn't say, "we're moving in less than a week," I'm not sure what does... except for the boxes that are ev. ery. where.

Katelyn, you looked very pretty in your new Easter dress and leg warmers even though you were probably ready to call it quits at picture time. I'm glad to see your smile and happy nature fully returned at the park! See you soon for the big move!

It sounds like you had a wonderful Easter weekend despite the chaos of getting ready to move. Love the cute pics of Katelyn! It won't be long and you'll be in your new house. Can't wait to see more pictures once you're settled!
