11 Months Old!

How is it that my fingers are typing "11 months old?" Seems impossible! Katelyn Clare is one month shy of being one year old. Wow!

Today's monthly photo shoot felt more like a cardio workout and you'll see why. Not only does Katelyn try to crawl off the chair or stand up on it after just seconds (there's a reason we call her our wiggly worm!), but this time around she totally figured out the sticker and wanted nothing more than to peel it off and scrunch it up in her little paws! 

Here's what Katelyn is up to at 11 months old:

~ She has started to take a few steps on her own. They're a little bit rocky, but she can do it. She loves to hold fingers and walk all around. She also pushes her walker toys for extra support as well. Katelyn also discovered the stairs lately and likes to climb all the way up - we are, of course, right next to her but she does the climbing on her own.

~ She usually goes to bed around 7 p.m. and wakes up around 6 a.m. A few days lately, she has skipped her afternoon nap (too much fun to be had, I guess!) When that happened, she feel asleep in her high chair eating dinner and her crib called at about 6 p.m. and she slept until 7 a.m.

~ Katelyn eats a combination of table foods, organic baby foods, and breast milk. She's getting pretty handy with her sippy cup too and usually drinks some water with her meals.

~ She likes to point at things and say, "dah"... pretty much constantly. Lately, she's been saying "go go go go!" (And she even says it with the correct intonation - like she's at a sporting event.) She also likes to say, "isshh," "dadada," "shheaa" (to us it sounds like a certain 4-letter word... and yes, we laugh each time :) and "haa-daa."

~ Katelyn still loves books. When we ask her where her books are, she goes right over to her bookshelf and begins taking all of them off the shelf. 

~ Her favorite toys are her shape sorter, her phones (yes, multiple), and a cow on wheels that plays music and makes a "moo" sound. She also still loves to crumple and tear paper; I'm not sure who gets more excited about coupons in the Sunday paper ;)

~ Katelyn loves to give kisses. The other morning after she woke up, she leaned right in and gave Michael a big kiss on the cheek - complete with "muah" and all :) She also likes to kiss her toy cow and Sophie the giraffe... and the little face she sees right up against the mirror before bath time! Katelyn blows kisses too when she's up for it.

~ When we ask her where her nose is, she points to her mouth. Every. Single. Time. (We're still working on that one ;)

~ Katelyn likes to wave hello and bye-bye. To the Target checkout person, to Malone, to me when I drop her off at school, to the babies in her "How Big" book, and many times in between. 

~ She's our tiny dancer! The girl bounces up and down pretty much anytime she hears music.

(Of course, after the photo shoot, Little Miss Sassy Pants is all about looking at the camera ;)

"Turning 11 months old is hard work - I need to rest!"

We are having so much fun watching Katelyn learn and grow, and see her personality bloom, right before our very eyes! It's truly amazing to see how far she's come from a tiny newborn (admittedly, Michael and I have come a long way, too!)
