On Sunday, June 23, we dedicated our second God-given child, Kendall Jean, to the Lord.
The child dedication ceremony at our church was an intimate, prayer-centered service.
There were 5 other children dedicated that day and each child was introduced, received a special oil balm on their forehead in the shape of a cross, and prayers spoken over them.
"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." - Deuteronomy 6:5-9
We prayed over our little Kendall committing to raise her to know Jesus and His promises. Uncle Jason and Aunt Cassie are Kendall's Godparents and their lives are a tremendous example of faith and love.
Here is the pledge of dedication we made as parents: "Before God, our family, and this church, we declare our desire to dedicate you to the Lord. Our commitment is to raise you in the love of Christ. With God's help, we desire to be examples of His grace and His love. Our prayer is that you will hunger and thirst for God's righteousness. May you be filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit, and may you choose to follow Jesus your whole life long."
Without a doubt, our most important responsibility as parents. Hands down.
This special day was made even more memorable by the presence of family members and dear friends.
And how about this darling trio?!
Gramma Kathy and Papa were there too, but we didn't get any photos of them. Sorry guys! :(
Our wonderful friends, the Zitzlspergers, attended the ceremony with us too. Here is Kendall playing with Dane and Erik.
We pray that Kendall learns to rely on God and hold His mighty hand through life.
May our girls be blessed. And may they know and follow Jesus all the days of their lives.

Papa and I are so happy you are sharing your faith with your girls and teaching them how to love and depend on God who is with them always.
