Fun from the Weekend

TGIF, everyone! And just in the nick of time before another weekend is upon us, I'll do a little recap of our last one!

Friday morning, we went to play with our friend Cooper and his baby brother Drew. Beth and I are friends from Gamma Phi and while I had to head out early for a photo shoot (which Katelyn was originally going to attend with me), she decided it would be much more fun to stay and hang out with Cooper and Drew for lunch. Thanks to Beth for being the impromptu parental guardian on this little lunch date :)

Friday afternoon, Gramma Kathy and Papa came to town for a visit. What a way to wake up from an afternoon nap - some of your favorite people in your very own house for the weekend! On Saturday morning, we went to Mall of America. In the theme park area, the swings were quite a delight to watch...

Time to get in on the ride action ourselves! The carousel is always a hit...

After the ride came to a stop and I said we're all done, Katelyn promptly replied with "Friend's turn." Since this is not a term we use regularly, I'm fairly certain when it's time to trade off activities at school the teachers say, "Time for our friend's turn." These little ears don't miss a thing!

Next up was the Blue's Clues ride that goes up and down and round and round. Gramma Kathy's turn to join the fun this time...

And why not another little ride while we're at it? This one was just a couple quarters and it received big smiles from the single patron...

Back at home, we played stickers... (Katelyn especially loves to put them on her cheeks)

We lounged with Papa... and put fortune cookie fortunes "band-aids" on our foreheads...

Made snakes and Easter egg baskets with Play-Doh (isn't that a lovely combo?)...

We went on a date night to one of our favorite restaurants in Uptown... (Thanks, Mom and Dad, for the opportunity!) Michael is in between grad school classes too, so the timing was perfect for a night out. We talked about all kinds of things including baby names, but we're a far cry from our top picks. Happy to say we're making some progress though!

And we just generally looked cute in a new pair of Carhartt overalls (yes, real Carhartts, from Uncle Mitch!) Even though she was born in Minnesota, Katelyn's got plenty of Iowa in her :)

What fun to have visitors for the weekend - all of us enjoyed it! Thanks for making the trip, Gramma and Papa!

Katelyn, it was definitely a fun weekend for us too!! We loved waking up in the mornings to the sound of your sweet little voice, saying, "Wake up, Papa, wake up!" and "Good mow-nin, Gomma!" Hugs and kisses to you!

Katelyn, what fun times you have with your Gramma and Papa....including bandaids on your forehead! Such good memories!
