"Bay-ball!"

Happy 4th of July! We hope you enjoyed the long holiday weekend celebrating our freedom and our country - it truly is an incredible holiday and marks so much more than a 3-day weekend. Service men and women of the past, present, and future, we salute you!

We enjoyed some lovely time as a family this weekend and we also put a nice dent in our "to-do" list - which feels good! We shopped at Ikea and some other furniture stores, had dinner out, worked on decorating and house projects, and also took in an all-American summertime tradition...

Michael got a pair of (incredible!) tickets from his boss, so we went to Target Field on Sunday afternoon to watch the Twins take on the Brewers. It was a bright, sunny day which was wonderful, but also meant it was pretty hot. 

Katelyn was content sitting on Michael's lap taking in all the sights and sounds when we first got to our seats. 

But once the heat got to her, she got a little restless and wanted to wander. Michael and I took turns with her walking around the concourse. We I coordinated our shifts around Joe Mauer's at-bats, so at least one of us was in the seats at that time :)

I always have Katelyn's sippy cup with water in my purse... apparently always except for the day we're baking in the afternoon sun. Ugh! We even looked at the Twins Gear store for a sippy cup, but no luck. We got a bottle of water and I kept pouring some in the lid, *trying* to get Katelyn to drink it but she didn't quite get it. Even though most of it spilled on her shirt, I suppose that was one way to keep cool!

While making our way around the concourse, Katelyn mostly wanted to walk on her own. But whenever the crowd erupted in cheers, she'd scamper to our legs with her arms up to be picked up. With about 40,000 people in attendance, it certainly got loud during exciting plays!

We left the game early for Katelyn's sake, but our Twins pulled out a win against Milwaukee! Hooray!

And a final photo opportunity in the big gold glove. (This is placed outside the park exactly 520 feet from home plate, which marks beloved Twins' great Harmon Killebrew's longest home run - in case that comes up in your next game of Trivial Pursuit! :)

It was a great day at the ballpark and a wonderful Independence Day weekend!
